Ellen brought up the subject of the 20-year-old aspiring model and country singer in her customary direct way.
"He seems like he's your boyfriend," Ellen asked.
"I could see where you could see that," Miley, who turns 16 on November 23, responded.
"He's a singer, he's really cute, and he's nice and he's a Christian and I really like that," Miley added.
"All right, so you have a boyfriend. Great," Ellen summed up.
In her interview, Miley also alluded to the perils of trusting anyone.
"I think you have to be really careful about the people you trust," she said. "There [are] very few, two or three people that I would actually go to with anything and know that it would never leave the room," she says. "Two of those are my parents."
