"I think I married for the wrong reason. Instead of following my heart and doing it because it makes you happy, I did it for the sake of an idea, a lovely fantasy," says Britney.
For the Record documents Britney's return to showbiz with the upcoming release of her sixth studio album Circus. It captures Britney in the recording studio, at her video shoot, backstage at her triumphant MTV Video Music Awards appearance, as well as back home in Louisiana.
It was shot over three months during which Britney allowed MTV unfettered access to her life. She says the documentary will clear up any misunderstandings about her life in the past.
Britney: For the Record airs exclusively on MTV November 30 at 10 p.m. It airs on Sky1 on December 1.
